×We are often asked if we are NAMM registered. NAMM (The National Association of Memorial Masons) has a register of approved fixers called the RQMF, which we are included on. We also have full public liability insurance up to £5 million.
Fergus is listed on the Register of Qualified Memorial Fixers (RQMF). This is an independent register supported by the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) for both NAMM members and Non-NAMM members who have achieved a Nationally Recognised Qualification in fixing Lawn Memorials and Monoliths.
We use a monolith fixing method using a NAMM approved concrete shoe. For details of our fixing method see this blog post on fixing headstones.
Most cemeteries ask for RQMF status or BRAMM (another regulatory body) membership, as well as occasionally that we register with their own Memorial Mason Registration Scheme. We have never had any trouble gaining access to install a headstone in a cemetery or churchyard in the UK.
We are also elected members of the following associations:
The National Association of Master Letter Carvers
The Society of Designer Craftsmen
The Society of Heraldic Arts
We were voted the Best Maker of Hand Carved Memorials by the Good Funeral Awards in 2016.
We also have full public liability insurance up to £5 million.
Fergus created Stoneletters Studio in 2003, after training at the Kindersley Workshop. He is a member of the prestigious Master Carver's Association.
