×Our workshop is located in the village of Milton under Wychwood in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only just over an hours' drive from London, and there are some wonderful pubs to visit as well as many beautiful villages, should you decide to make a trip to the workshop part of an extended visit.
Our workshop is located in the village of Milton under Wychwood in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only just over an hours' drive from London, and there are some wonderful pubs to visit as well as many beautiful villages, should you decide to make a trip to the workshop part of an extended visit. Our nearest train station is Charlbury which can be reached from London Paddington in as little as 1hr 12 minutes.
If you need somewhere nearby to eat or sleep in the Cotswolds, we would recommend the following pubs. Hannah also runs an Airbnb at her father's house five minutes' drive away which is very reasonably priced, comfy and sleeps 6 and a dog. https://airbnb.com/h/cotswold-...
This is our local pub, only half a mile away. It serves wonderful food and service is outstanding; it received rave reviews from Giles Coren! It would be worth booking in advance. It is very cozy and particularly good in the winter. The pub does not have any accommodation.

This pub is one of our favourite places to eat in the summer as it has a lovely garden and an idyllic setting. It has great food and the rooms on the website look very nice.
This pub is located in a picturesque village only 15 minutes' drive away. Swinbrook is an iconic Cotswold village, the former home of the Mitford sisters. The Swan is nestled by a river, with excellent food and rooms.

This is another of our favourite pubs, again only 10 minutes drive away, and owned by the same people as the Swan.

For a very special treat, we recommend the Wild Rabbit in Kingham. Owned by Lady Bamford, with the famous Daylesford Farm Shop down the road, the pub has a wonderful cozy bar and a Michelin starred restaurant. It is quite expensive, but the food and accommodation are outstanding.
Owned by Carole Bamford, Daylesford Farm Shop is well worth a visit. It is a vibrant place to have lunch and there is also a lovely outdoor area which is great in the summer. The food is all organic and locally sourced. It is located just outside Kingham, about 15 minutes' away from the workshop.
Conveniently situated on the A40, the Burford Garden Centre is on the way to London, just 10 minutes' drive away. The restaurant is excellent and being self-service, it is good place to go if you are pressed for time.
Other pub accommodation in our adjoining village:
There are three other pubs in the adjoining village of Shipton under Wychwood. We have not stayed in any of these, and wouldn't generally eat at these pubs as we prefer The Hare, but they are well situated for visiting the workshop:
This is a 14th-century inn, which looks very nice from the website. It is on the main road, however.

This is a large pub with a large garden if you are visiting in the summer. It is also on the main road.

This would probably be our choice for a very local pub as it is tucked away off the main road in a nice quiet location.

1. Hannah's own Airbnb, run together with her father at Heather Lodge, is only 5 minutes' drive away. An affordable option, and you will have the whole place to yourself. We allow pets if you need to bring your dog!

2. Hillborough House B& B has a good reputation and is just around the corner from our favourite local pub The Hare.
3. High Lodge Farm B & B is a good option if you'd like to be a little more rural. It is on a farm just out of our village. The telephone number is 01993 830321 and it is run by a very nice family. Reviews can be found below:
